Adding Private Taxonomies to GP Premium Elements

If you’re working with GeneratePress Elements and need to use your custom or private taxonomies as conditions for displaying elements, you might have noticed that not all taxonomies are available by default. This tutorial will show you how to add your private taxonomies to the GeneratePress Elements conditions panel, giving you more flexibility in controlling when and where your elements appear.

This approach is particularly useful for membership sites, custom post type archives, or any WordPress setup where you’ve created custom taxonomies that need to integrate with GeneratePress Elements.

The Problem with Private Taxonomies

By default, GeneratePress Elements only shows taxonomies that are public and have a user interface in the WordPress admin. This makes sense for most users, but if you’ve created private taxonomies for specific functionality, you’ll find they don’t appear in the Elements conditions panel.

The Solution

To make your private taxonomies available in GeneratePress Elements, you’ll need to add a simple filter to your theme’s functions.php file or use a code snippets plugin. Here’s how to do it:
